Rara Lake the largest lake in Nepal at an altitude of 2985 mt./9,790 ft. is surrounded by Rara National Park is one of the best destinations for trekking in western Nepal. The National Park, is noted for its wild grandeur that includes blue sheep and snow leopards.

We fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla to start the trek. An important trading route to Tibet lies on route and sheep and goats being used as pack animals is seen frequently. We cross Churchi lekh covered in snow in spring, before reaching Rara lake. Here, we spend a day or two exploring the lake before heading south to Jumla from where we fly back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj. This trek can be combined with wildlife in Bardiya National Park and Tharu culture in the far west.
